报告摘要:Wireless-powered communication and reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) can complement each other for increasing energy utilization and spectrum efficiency by reconfiguring the surrounding radio environment, however, which has not been sufficiently studied by the existing works. In this paper, we propose a joint radio resource and passive beamforming optimization scheme for a downlink RIS-assisted wireless-powered communication network with a harvest-then-transmit protocol to improve system energy efficiency (EE). In the considered model, the single-antenna wireless devices (WDs) harvest wireless energy from a multi-antenna dedicated power station (PS) through the RIS in the downlink and transmit their independent information to a single-antenna receiver in the uplink by a time-division-multiple-access mode. Our goal is to maximize the total EE of all WDs. To make full use of the beamforming gain provided by both the PS and the RIS, we jointly optimize the active beamforming of the PS and the passive beamforming of the RIS. To deal with the challenging non-convex optimization problem with multiple coupled variables, we first consider fixing the passive beamforming, and converting the remaining radio resource allocation problem into an equivalent convex problem which is solved by using Lagrange dual theory. Then, we fix theoptimized resource allocation parameters and optimize the passive beamforming of the RIS by using a semidefinite programming method. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves higher EE compared to the conventional schemes.

报告主题:Hardware Impaired Ambient Backscatter NOMA Systems: Reliability and Security(李兴旺)
报告时间:2021年9月26日(周日)下午15:50—16:25
报告地点:长安校区通院大楼106
报告摘要:Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and ambient backscatter communication have been envisioned as two promising technologies for the Internet-of-things due to their high spectral efficiency and energy efficiency. Motivated by this fact, we consider an ambient backscatter NOMA system in the presence of a malicious eavesdropper. Under the realistic assumptions of residual hardware impairments (RHIs) and in-phase and quadrature-phase imbalance (IQI)., channel estimation errors (CEEs) and imperfect successive interference cancellation (ipSIC), we investigate the physical layer security (PLS) of the ambient backscatter NOMA systems with emphasis on reliability and security. In order to further improve the security of the considered system, an artificial noise scheme is proposed where the radio frequency (RF) source acts as a jammer that transmits interference signals to the legitimate receivers and eavesdropper. On this basis, the analytical expressions for the outage probability (OP) and the intercept probability (IP) are derived. To gain more insights, the asymptotic analysis and corresponding diversity orders for the OP in the high signal to noise ratio (SNR) regime are carried out, and the asymptotic behaviors of the IP in the high main-to-eavesdropper ratio (MER) region are explored as well. Finally, the correctness of the theoretical analysis is verified by the Monte Carlo simulation.

报告主题:Intelligent Radio Environment Assisted Wireless Power IoT Networks(Zheng Chu)
报告时间:2021年9月26日(周日)下午16:25—17:00
报告地点:长安校区通院大楼106
报告摘要:Recently, intelligent radio environment has been considered one of revolutionized techniques in future wireless networks, which has been extracting more and more attention in academia and industry. This presentation first introduces the concept of a passive reflection mode, namely, intelligent reflecting surface (IRS), being composed of massive passive reflecting elements/arrays. Each of them introduces a certain reflection coefficient, including amplitude and phase shift, coordinated by a smart controller, to control the radio wave of this passive reflection. Next, an IRS assisted wireless powered IoT network is discussed, where two different types of reflecting radio wave and the transmission time scheduling for WET and WIT are jointly designed to evaluate the network throughput. In addition, several multiple access schemes, i.e., TDMA, FDMA, and NOMA, are exploited with aid of the IRS. Finally, we exhibit the simulation results to confirm the benefits induced the IRS, and highlight the optimal designs of the IRS phase shifts and the transmission scheduling.

报告主题:Dynamic Network Slicing and Resource Allocation in MEC Networks for Operator Revenue Maximization(Xiaoli Chu)
报告时间:2021年9月26日(周日)下午17:00—17:35
报告地点:长安校区通院大楼106
报告摘要:The optimization of network slicing and resource allocation for mobile edge computing (MEC) networks has attracted increasing research interest, but most existing works investigated the resource slicing, energy scheduling and power allocation from the perspective of mobile devices, without considering the MEC network operator's revenue. In this talk, we present a novel framework for network slicing in MEC networks, including the admission of slice requests and a revenue model, and study the operator's revenue escalation over time while considering traffic variations. Based on the framework, we develop an algorithm to maximize the operator's average revenue by jointly optimizing slice request admission in the long-term and resource allocation in the short-term, without requiring any prior-knowledge of traffic distributions. To reduce the computational complexity, we decouple the optimization variables for efficient algorithm design, and obtain the strategies for user association, CPU-cycle frequency, power allocation, subcarriers assignment, and dynamic slice request admission decisions. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can strike a flexible balance between the average revenue and the average delay, and can significantly increase the operator's revenue against existing schemes.
